Hello….Thanks for dropping by!
I am Antara Boruah, a ‘khar khuwa’ Assamese by blood and a geologist by background.
This blog is a humble attempt to bring the less explored cuisine of my beautiful land to the fore, so that not only could you treat yourself to an Assamese meal for a change, you could also know what to not miss out on when you visit our culturally rich and naturally blessed land.
I am a strong believer of the fact that food and travel go hand in hand. Food being such a significant trademark of a culture, one cannot really experience a place unless one has dined the local way. I would be really glad if I could, through this blog bring you in touch with the diversity and uniqueness of Assamese food and culture and inspire you to experience the same for real.
I take pride in calling myself a hard core foodie and a passionate cook. Cooking is the only thing that I have continued to enjoy doing right from my childhood uptill now. I still remember learning to make my first cup of milk tea for my uncle when I was in my 7th standard and failing miserably at it. Thats when I learnt that cooking is not just about putting all the ingredients together, there’s so much more to it. As I gradually started to learn cooking from my parents, I always wanted to try new recipes and also tweak the recipes to bring out a new dish hoping to surprise my family :D. In this blog you will also find recipes that I have curated for my clients while pursuing my passion of creating/ learning new recipes.
I am also an avid traveller, who love to get lost in nature’s wilderness!
From Regal Mountains to deep Aquamarine Ocean, it never fails to offer me my own rare moment of peaceful tranquillity. And I would definitely thank my stars, that has made it possible to live my dream of travelling to the far flung volcanic massive in the Mediterranean Sea to those intricately folded and faulted hard terrains of the Appalachians and the ever growing majestic Himalayas.
